Our management teams work with residents to meet water, energy, recycling, alternative transportation and community goals. We’ve focused on several areas to achieve a LEED Silver certification:

Water Use & Conservation
Oregon may have a reputation for having an abundance of water, but in reality, its water supply has experienced increased pressure from a growing state population, several years of drought, and low precipitation and snowmelt. North Hollow uses simple ways to conserve precious water including the design of appealing, yet drought tolerant landscaping with drip irrigation systems and planters that naturally capture rainwater that infiltrates the ground slowly. The property uses water efficient fixtures in restrooms, common areas and apartment units.

Energy Efficiency
Sustainable features in the apartment units include large double-pane, low E, insulated windows that provide natural light, high-efficiency systems for lighting and mechanical (HVAC), water-efficient fixtures and Energy Star appliances. Reflective roofing surfaces to reduce heat island effects.

Waste & Recycling
North Hollow is committed to improving our environment by reducing, reusing and recycling waste. Resident and management involvement is vital to the success of reaching waste diversion goals. There are recycling facilities on-site for residents and construction waste was safely recycled, reused and disposed of accordingly.

Alternative Transportation & Mobility
Residents at North Hollow are encouraged to use alternative modes of transportation in an effort to reduce carbon footprints, reduce commuting costs, reduce stress and improve health, and reduce energy consumption.

Alternative forms of transportation to include walking/biking, public transportation, hybrid vehicle travel, and carpooling.

North Hollow enjoys a walkability score of 98 and the MAX is right outside our door. There are 184 parking spaces for bikes and only 64 for cars with preferred parking for hybrid vehicles as well as charging stations. The property also has bicycles for residents to use on a first come first serve basis. And thanks to the dockless electric scooters and bicycles from app based providers like Bird, it’s quick, clean and easy to get around Portland.
